come dine with me #1

its sunday night, and we've just had our first come dine with me. courtesy of jemma.

very nice i must say, the starter was leek potato and blue cheese soup,
main course was five spice duck leg with wild rice, mange touts and vine tomatoes,
dessert was wine and berry ice cream. had a selection of nice wines, chosen by gerry.

was going to take photographs, but forgot. did take one of the main course though, which i will probably attach later.

i will be a busy bee tomorrow, got three courses to make including homemade bread and littttttle blinis. definately will put photos up tomorrow evening.
james is home tonight, YOU BETTER RING ME, biyatch

gubye, have a nice monday x

good evening.

ahh thought i'd better blog as i've failed pretty terribly at blogging every day this week.
yeeesterday me and ali and lee had a picnic in the park. it was nice, even though we kept getting harrassed by various tiny dogs. got home at midnight due to m25 traffic and stopping at tesco in hemel at half eleven to buy some unnecessary food.

had a nice lazy day today, made some pea soup for lunch and tidied up my bedroom and moved things around. i like not leaving the house.
tomorrow am going to waitrose to buy some duck eggs, (and other foods) to do my come dine with me night on monday. i look forward to it.

in other news, what is wrong with television? just as britains got talent is finally fucking over, big brother is coming back hmm. makes me want to live in another country.

i feel rubbish, considering it's been such a nice week. blegggh.

tartar

p.s. will blog on monday night documenting my come dine with me menu. including pictures. excited? yeahh. i thought so.

don't call me chicken, needles

yesterday, i finally escaped the clutches of my crazy vegan mother and went to stay at my lovely sister's house.

we went to town to buy some fabric and food, and then had some tasty pam soup for lunch.
spent the evening watching all three back to the future films, in a row, followed by some snippets from the bonus disk.
i enjoy it here. lee is fun, with his encylopedic knowledge of back to the future.
today we had some duck eggs for breakfast, i had mine fried. it had an enouuuurmous yolk :) we then had a jolly walk to the station (in the rain) only to find that the train was cancelled and had to wait half an hour for the next one. we walked to the end of the platform so that it wouldn't be busy, and everybody followed us. bastards.

on the train, there was, i assume, a very posh woman talking to her friend about her son, and his strawberry blonde hair and sensitive skin etc etc..
then i overheard her saying how her son forgot to take his sunglasses on holiday
"he's got very sensitive eyes you know. like a hamster." hahahha
the fat man sitting next to us probably thought we were lauging at him, poor man. i had to put my ipod on just to block out the sound of the woman behind us. when i turned it off, i believe she was then talking about the hair around her breasts when she was pregnant.
more uncontrollable giggling.
after doing a bit of shop browsing, we went to burger king and had some tasty junk food. i can still taste that burger in my mouth every time i burp. mmm.

that is all, really. i want some ginger cake. even though im all full of carbonara.
i think they're trying to fatten me up. cannibals.

luton carnival 2009

possibly the most horrific experience of my life?
and i slightly resent my dad for making me go to town with him on the day of the carnival. i thought i made it quite clear how i feel about such events.

obviously not.

walking around luton town centre was unbelievably depressing, horrible music and horrible crowds of luton scum.. etc

but i did go to M&S and buy some rhubarb and custard sweeties :')
we went to see star treeeek at about half two, but after we got tickets they told us that the sound wasn't working so come back in an hour for the next viewing. dad made us go outside and watch the carnival. it was horrible and i wanted to be sick and/or die. worst hour of my life.

star trek was awwwwwwweeeeeesome though, i loved it and now i want to watch the original series...

however, having spent the day out in luton i was forced to be in a terrible mood for the rest of the evening. until i happened to notice that justin lee collins bring back star trek was on E4. i watched it. it was goood. is it just me, or is leonard nimoy just a weeeeny bit sexy?

going off to farnham to stay with my lovely sister tomorrow. can't wait :)
will continue to blog, probably, cos i promised james i would.
goodshite x

p.s. am slightly frightened about going to sleep. haven't had nice dreams lately. garrrh

hi

saturday was funnn!
i spent the day at james', where we made trashy sandwiches - one containing cheese and ketchup, the other containing peanut butter and banana.

we also made a rather sad looking, but very tasty cake whilst listening to the cure.

that was our cake. ^

unfortunately, we left the room for a while to play some fallout 3 and when we returned to the kitchen there was no sign of a cake ever having existed.
thats because james' fat dog climbed onto the table and ate it all :)

at one point, we noticed a bee buzzing around the kitchen. we did our good deed for the year, and fed him some honey. he seemed to enjoy it. although we did wonder if he was stuck to the table because he didn't move for really a long time.
bee's have really massive tongues.

< barry the beeee.

today, i made the best scrambled eggs ever.
ever ever. and i've also done lots of unnecessary homework that i probably don't need to do at all.
ah well. that is all. here is a photograph of james' garden for your enjoyment.

hahah!

I just found an old purse containing an abbey national bank card that I lost about three years ago.
Unfortunately I can't remember the pin number but I don't think there was any money in it anyway :)
I couldn't sleep and I was thinking about an old jacket that I have in my wardrobe, so I got up, tried it on, put my hand in my pocket and pulled out the purse. I remember when I lost it and I was more sad about losing the purse than the bank card. Its pretty :)

Anyway, I have become unhealthily obsessed with eBay. I've even started selling things to make up for how much money I'm spending on there :)

Sanum, I miss you. blog, motherfucker. xxx

moomin

biscuits.
i'm eating moomin shaped biscuits. they're delicious.
got home last night at about 11 o'clock. you can imagine the delight we all felt when approaching the scumhole we call 'luton'.
our flight back was rather disappointing. the plane was very crowded and delayed by two hours after we already got on the plane. making the time we were sitting in our seats & not moving longer than the time it took to get back to england. there was a rude flight attendant man at the airport who told a room full of people that we have no common sense. there was also a very annoying and very large family of young koreans(?) who seemed to take up half the gate.

the flight there however, was rather pleasant. stansted airport is nice. james, matt and i had some chocolate croissants and wandered about the many shops during our hour and a half long wait for gate 86 to open. we were quite near the front of the queue, so that was nice as we were able to laugh at the people at the back who were obviously going to get crap seats. the highlight of this day, however, was when a middle aged man with shoulder length blonde hair wearing a long brown coat, a scarf and sunglasses wandered in to the gate somewhat nonchalantly, not bothering to queue, but just sitting down at a table in the little cafe with his equally middle class friend. then james pointed out that he was JUST like the 'i saw you coming' man from mitchell and webb.
this sent me into fits of uncontrollable laughter everytime i saw him. i wonder if he noticed.
when we got on the plane, there was a flight attendant standing right next to our row of seats doing those arm movement things. he looked so depressed in what he was doing and was demonstrating the safety exits in such an apathetic way, that this made me have yet another 'fit of giggles.' i think he did notice.

after a one hour and forty minute flight, we arrived at oslo airport and picked up our bags. james' cousin & his girlfriend picked us up and drove us to their house in drangedal. james fell asleep on me in the car :) it was funny. my neck hurt soo much from staring out the window for a full two and a half hours at all the pretty 'proper' snow.

the thing i noticed first about norway however was the incredible lack of pollution. hm. i was able to breathe deeply for the first time in 16 years.

i'm going to try not to continue writing this as if its a book, even though sanum is insiting i include 'every little detail.' i'm getting bored.

so the house was beautiful. all wooden and country-sidey :) and there's the most amazing view out of the living room window. (photos are on facebook..)
i think on the first night, we went sledging down the big hill next to the house which was fun, and i managed to collect my first round of knee-bruises.
the next day, we sort of started learning to ski. basically, we got the ski's on, skied up a big hill and were given a nice push by PT :) didn't know how to stop. or turn corners. got more knee-bruises. and, a rather painful elbow-bruise. somehow.

we frequently landed face first in piles of snow, which looked hilariously cartoon like with our skis flailing about in the air.

we got up at about half ten every morning and the breakfast was all layed out for us on the table :D we weren't very good norwegiens and ate only cereal and toast for breakfast. no meat for us thanks.

me and james went to a norwegien shopping centre on tuesday. except we were too scared to go in any shops incase someone spoke to us. when we got hungry we opted for a chocolate bar from a supermarket where we said nothing but 'hi' which is the same in both languages.
hmm. we did lots of skiing, everyday, which hurt a bit but i got better and loved every second of it. except the ones where i was going up hill. we all tried some snowboarding too, which was okay but i didn't like it much because i found the boots uncomfortable and couldnt be bothered to keep unstrapping my feet everytime i wanted to move. james and matt got really good though and started snowboarding off the roof. :) one day i'll upload the videos.
other activities included jumping off the veranda into a metre and a half of snow. which was fun til matt neearly broke himself...
john taught us to shoot aswell. that was awesome. and i wasn't even retarded at it. i hit every can with every bullet :)

on thursday, or wednesday, i'm not sure.. we skiied up to their log hut. was miles away and was all uphill but it was so worth it. we skiied across the lake to get to it which felt pretty weird and slightly terrifying. the hut was gorrrgeous. and it had a big white snowy afro.
skiied all the way back to the house, managing to only fall over once when i forgot how to turn corners.. beat the guys back to the house. was proud. but my face was purple for the rest of the day.
thursday night was nice, we drove down to the supermarket and bought some sweeeeties and a movie. oh and on friday we watched old home movies of james' family. brilliant. :)

unfortunately i didnt eat anything too weird last week, except moose and brown goats cheese. they were both darn tasty though. ate alot of jelly, too.

well, thats all really. detailed enough for you, sanum?

hm. i don't like being back in england, its like going back to reality, as ridiculous as that sounds.

bye bye x

p.s. shitty laundry. creamy dreamy. that's all im gonna say.

Friday, 20 February 2009

hi!

coming home tomorrow :)
have had an amazing week. i like to ski.
i will tell you all about it when i return, as typing on this keyboard is somewhat challenging.

bye byeeeee

hello

i hate packing!
it took me all day & i've finally finished. but in order to do that, i had to end up packing pretty much every item of clothing i own.
its okay, i'll make james carry my pretty pink suitcase.

nothing has happened in the past week, except i finally finished all my college work and got it handed in. i'm so glad its over, that project was absolutely balls.
can anyone else not believe that we've all been at college for over six months?

happy birthday fraser! (not that he reads this.) but anyway...

i had a dream last night that i was in an empty swimming pool with john nettles. and also that someone in my family was murdered.
i guess thats what i get for watching CSI and midsomer murders in the middle of the night.

hmm, i'm going to get ready to go out.
i'll miss you :) but when i come back, i promise i'll do a ridiculously long blog and bore you all to death with photos of mountains and mooses :)

FINALLY

a snow day that actually affects me!
barnfield college is closed, even LSFC is closed :)
ahh i love snow.
what i love even more is the fact that i live in england, where four centimetres of snow scares the SHIT out of everyone :)

have a merry snow day, chaps

let it snow

let it snow let it snow.
i feel sick.
however i am unsure whether this is due to accidently consuming about a tablespoon of nail varnish remover, or whether its because i have a sore throat.
haven't been out in the snow today. i was supposed to be spending all day doing work but actually did none, so i could have gone out anyway. i like the snow. i like the sound it makes when you walk on it. but it makes me angry when people ruin it by running all over it. pesky kids.
my college was actually closed today, not that that made any difference to me, what with it being a monday.

my bedroom stinks of nail varnish remover and i hate my brother.

on the brightside, heroes is back tomorrow.
wahoooo.

Sunday, 1 February 2009

hello, treacle

nothing remotely interesting has happened since my last blog. did some college, did ALOT of silkscreening. i never want to see a split-pin ever again in my entire life.
james picked me up from college on friday (and was late - i felt like a little kid who's drunken mother had forgotten to pick them up from school...)
we went back to his house and made some immmense chocolate pots and ate bacon and pea risotto a la james' mummm. :)

yesterday was boring, mostly. i watched lots of telly and FINALLY got my freeview box working in my bedroom & thenn made a steamed treacle sponge pud'n.

went to stevenage today with daddddy & finalllly returned my crappy new jeans to tk-maxx. had a subway. went to asda and bought some chili and chocolate crisps & some cream sodas.
came home. it snowed lots. pretty :)

now it has stopped snowing and i'm sad. england is an annoying place. weather-wise.

lol sanum said her homies are gonna beat up my stalker for me :) she's all scary and lesbianated. :(

i promise i'll do an interesting blog as soooon as something remotely exciting happens. promise.

Wednesday, 28 January 2009

hello hello hello

thought i'd better blog before sanum comes and stabs me during the night.
oh and she's just informed me that it has to be long too. lucky you.

well well, let me tell y'all about friday. walked to town with james at half three, only to find that no one else had got there yet and weren't answering their phones :) eventually met up with everyone at the station and me and grace buggered off to farmfoods to bring back food for our men. ;P ha

got back just intime to have a brief catch up with kathryn! :O and just about caught our train.
amazingly, it took about fifteen minutes to get to kings cross, which disappointed me slightly as i enjoy train journeys.
we had fun for a while racing through the crowds of scary worky people to get a train to picadilly circus.
we missed the happy hour at pizza hut & we're all far too stingy to pay full price, so we decided to be cool and go to mcdonalds instead. i love greasy student food :) aaaand we got free mcflurries.
anyway, had fun in there (see facebook photos) we read the newspapers and grace revealed that she is a littleee bit racist :) hahahhaha
thenn, we strolled over to some amaaazing sweet shop and bought some tasty shit to rot our teeth. and laughed at the nice tacky london things in a souvenir shop.
made our way over to the gielgud theatre, which i still can not pronounce. it was beaaautiful and posh and had bill bailey's face all over the outside of it.
in my opinion, we had the best seats in the place; even though they were the cheapest and at the very top at the back :) it wasn't a big place so we had a really good view and didn't have peoples big heads blocking anything.

there was a large loud woman and her husband sitting next to us with whom we chatted to throughout the show. she was nice so i didn't seem to mind that she had the loudest laugh in the entire place. i even offered them jaffa cakes :)

anyway, it was bloody brilliant, i've never laughed so much everrrrr.
after that, fraser took us the looong way round to get to leicester square where we sat in the ben & jerrys shop and had ice cream and waffles.
ha, the guy that worked there had to ask some other guy how much change to give me from a tenner when i spent £4.80 :) sounds like sommmebody failed maths.

we wandered back to the station and got the slow train home. it was nice... we read the papers and fell asleep.
me and james walked home at about 1am and didn't even get stabbed. i was impressed.

it was the bestttt night ever :) i want to go to more comedy gigs.

i don't really remember what happened since then. on monday night james came round and we made some tasty tasty spaghetti bolognese...

on tuesday sanum came round for our weekly house watching fest. we ate rolos and made some homemade oven/fried chips which we put into a newspaper and ate on the way to school. we had a lovely catch up with mr wise & drakey and laughed at the creepy new I.T people. it felt weird being back at school, like it felt really different but also like we'd never been away from it at the same time.

college was rubbish today. i saw beth and katherine on the way though which was nice :) i can't believe emily is leaving :( who's gonna look after me and becky when we're scared of the librarians?
on a tastier note, i spent most of my evening making profiteroles which was exciting. never made choux pastry before.

i have decided that i would like a job. i'm worried that i look like a lazy slob for most of the week.
help me find one? i don't want to work in a shop.

hope that was good enough :)
bye kids

Sunday, 25 January 2009

:D

friday night was pretty much the best night everrrrr. it was so worth being too ill to go to college :)

i'll update this later
i can't be bothered x

Wednesday, 14 January 2009

georgie loves

sanum. because she bought me a big chocolate muffin and a bottle of orange juice to help me through the long dull hours in which i am bunking off college.
and i want to hear aaaaaaaaall about 'oblivion' please :)

mum is cool, she phoned up college for me today (because i can't stand talking to strangers on the phone) and told them that i have a cold! which is technically true, although i don't feel in the slighted bit ill. just lazy.

i want a new phoooone but i have four months left of my crappy contract with crappy 3.
gonna go eat some falafal for lunch
ciao

ach

i don't have much to say.
but i had a good tuesday, once again.
james was (almost) at my house on time this morning & we went to town in search of a leather jacket to make james look a bit like the fonz. i blew all my monies in topshop in the sale for some stupid reason, but nevermind.
sanum came over & we watched two marvellous episodes of desperate housewives whilst eating a delicious lunch of tangy toms, rolos and lattes. a very tasty combination, i must say.

i downloaded a film that was on last night, 'the lake house' starring sandra bullock, keanu reeves, and a magic time travelling mailbox. it was good. i particularly enjoyed the fact that it took 20 minutes to download at about 290kb/s :)

the rest of the day was spent with me eating numerous bowls of cocoa pops and frolicking around wearing my new purchases.

my cousin's boyfriend was on masterchef tonight haha. he got through :)

can't be bothered with college tomorrow, aghh
i'd rather go in the mornings on wednesdays rather than the afternoon.

anyhow, i'm off to bed now because i am very very bored & my brother is about to come and steal my laptop. again.

goodpie

apologies

for my lack of bloggage.
i thought that the wireless had broken on my laptop because it wouldn't work for about a week.
tonight, i finally decided to shift my arse downstairs and switch the BT hub off and on again.
voila - it worked.
i'm still proud of myself for fixing it though :)

so now i am celebrating by ordering pretty things off the internet. getting things in the post is so damn satisfying...

in the past week i have:

  • changed my room around, therefore making it permanently tidy so that sanum won't be disgusted with me next time she comes round.
  • failed to get my freeview box to work.
  • enjoyed a very jolly luncheon of advocaat with lemonade and hotcross buns with butter at james' house on tuesday.
  • gone back to college, stood at an easel for two days drawing an old woman named thelma with hideous clothes on.
  • gone to stay with ali in surrey & bought chinese food from george takei. (...or a guy who looked lots like him)
that is all.
now sanum can't moan that i haven't blogged :)

Saturday, 3 January 2009

doctor who?

literally.
who the bloody hell is 'matt smith'?
some posh twat with a creepy face and a stupid haircut, thats who.
i'm not happy
and everyone else seems to have automatically accepted him, which makes me even angrier.

on a lighter note, i got all my ski stuff, including some sexy lesbian hiking boots.
can't frickin waaaaaaaaaaaait.

merry

new year, ladies and gents.
i decided to be cool and stay in watching elton john's live concert thing this year.
what y'all been up to?
i had a very nice day today. made some cakes. i would say that this year went out with a bang.
ha x
