moomin

biscuits.
i'm eating moomin shaped biscuits. they're delicious.
got home last night at about 11 o'clock. you can imagine the delight we all felt when approaching the scumhole we call 'luton'.
our flight back was rather disappointing. the plane was very crowded and delayed by two hours after we already got on the plane. making the time we were sitting in our seats & not moving longer than the time it took to get back to england. there was a rude flight attendant man at the airport who told a room full of people that we have no common sense. there was also a very annoying and very large family of young koreans(?) who seemed to take up half the gate.

the flight there however, was rather pleasant. stansted airport is nice. james, matt and i had some chocolate croissants and wandered about the many shops during our hour and a half long wait for gate 86 to open. we were quite near the front of the queue, so that was nice as we were able to laugh at the people at the back who were obviously going to get crap seats. the highlight of this day, however, was when a middle aged man with shoulder length blonde hair wearing a long brown coat, a scarf and sunglasses wandered in to the gate somewhat nonchalantly, not bothering to queue, but just sitting down at a table in the little cafe with his equally middle class friend. then james pointed out that he was JUST like the 'i saw you coming' man from mitchell and webb.
this sent me into fits of uncontrollable laughter everytime i saw him. i wonder if he noticed.
when we got on the plane, there was a flight attendant standing right next to our row of seats doing those arm movement things. he looked so depressed in what he was doing and was demonstrating the safety exits in such an apathetic way, that this made me have yet another 'fit of giggles.' i think he did notice.

after a one hour and forty minute flight, we arrived at oslo airport and picked up our bags. james' cousin & his girlfriend picked us up and drove us to their house in drangedal. james fell asleep on me in the car :) it was funny. my neck hurt soo much from staring out the window for a full two and a half hours at all the pretty 'proper' snow.

the thing i noticed first about norway however was the incredible lack of pollution. hm. i was able to breathe deeply for the first time in 16 years.

i'm going to try not to continue writing this as if its a book, even though sanum is insiting i include 'every little detail.' i'm getting bored.

so the house was beautiful. all wooden and country-sidey :) and there's the most amazing view out of the living room window. (photos are on facebook..)
i think on the first night, we went sledging down the big hill next to the house which was fun, and i managed to collect my first round of knee-bruises.
the next day, we sort of started learning to ski. basically, we got the ski's on, skied up a big hill and were given a nice push by PT :) didn't know how to stop. or turn corners. got more knee-bruises. and, a rather painful elbow-bruise. somehow.

we frequently landed face first in piles of snow, which looked hilariously cartoon like with our skis flailing about in the air.

we got up at about half ten every morning and the breakfast was all layed out for us on the table :D we weren't very good norwegiens and ate only cereal and toast for breakfast. no meat for us thanks.

me and james went to a norwegien shopping centre on tuesday. except we were too scared to go in any shops incase someone spoke to us. when we got hungry we opted for a chocolate bar from a supermarket where we said nothing but 'hi' which is the same in both languages.
hmm. we did lots of skiing, everyday, which hurt a bit but i got better and loved every second of it. except the ones where i was going up hill. we all tried some snowboarding too, which was okay but i didn't like it much because i found the boots uncomfortable and couldnt be bothered to keep unstrapping my feet everytime i wanted to move. james and matt got really good though and started snowboarding off the roof. :) one day i'll upload the videos.
other activities included jumping off the veranda into a metre and a half of snow. which was fun til matt neearly broke himself...
john taught us to shoot aswell. that was awesome. and i wasn't even retarded at it. i hit every can with every bullet :)

on thursday, or wednesday, i'm not sure.. we skiied up to their log hut. was miles away and was all uphill but it was so worth it. we skiied across the lake to get to it which felt pretty weird and slightly terrifying. the hut was gorrrgeous. and it had a big white snowy afro.
skiied all the way back to the house, managing to only fall over once when i forgot how to turn corners.. beat the guys back to the house. was proud. but my face was purple for the rest of the day.
thursday night was nice, we drove down to the supermarket and bought some sweeeeties and a movie. oh and on friday we watched old home movies of james' family. brilliant. :)

unfortunately i didnt eat anything too weird last week, except moose and brown goats cheese. they were both darn tasty though. ate alot of jelly, too.

well, thats all really. detailed enough for you, sanum?

hm. i don't like being back in england, its like going back to reality, as ridiculous as that sounds.

bye bye x

p.s. shitty laundry. creamy dreamy. that's all im gonna say.
